A family tree is
the most common way of visually documenting one's ancestry. It can help us
discover where we come from, and our family history, which is also our own
history. The family tree describes our origin and it is something we should
have in mind so as not to forget our identity.
The students from
6th Grade of Primary Education have worked on their own family tree.
It has been a motivating activity and has allowed them to be creative and
curious about their relatives and the way they are linked to each other.
Creating a family tree offers students
interdisciplinary knowledge: History, Language, Arts & Crafts… They focus
their attention on the task and, at the same time, they develop several
personal and artistic skills in an entertaining way.
As part of
the Erasmus+ project “Your History is Our History”, this activity has
encouraged our students to respect and love their family and to be aware of
their own history.
